While this is a normal occurrence, relighting a wick with this carbon buildup can result in excessive soot and heat, leading to a lower-quality candle performance. *To maintain optimal candle performance, simply trim your wicks to a length of 1/4" when you notice this carbon buildup on them. Your candles will burn cleaner and last longer, providing you with a more enjoyable experience.
